Q: Can İSTECH Exu™ hose handle high pressure such as 3 bars and higher?

A: Yes, Exu™ hose is made of strong and flexible micropores able to handle high pressure without losing their operability at lower pressure. Also, unlike drip hoses which can tear under high pressure, the porous structure of Exu™ hose allows the release of pressure throughout the length of the hose and hence eliminates any high-pressure points that could lead to tearing.

Is Exu™ hose usable for above ground irrigation?

A: Yes. For greenhouses, for example, where a high level of humidity is desirable and above ground irrigation is preferred, the Exu™ hose can be installed above ground with similar performance to the subsurface setup.

Does Exu™ hose get clogged by soil?

A: No, because the pores of the Exu™ hose are smaller than most soil grains.

Does Exu™ hose get clogged by limestone?

A: Based on our testing, the Exu™ hose will get clogged by very hard water (>40 mg/l) after about 400 liters/m of irrigation. Depending on the particular irrigation requirements, this can take between 100-200 days of irrigation. Nevertheless, the unclogging is very straightforward; the limestone can be easily and safely flushed with small amounts of acetic acid (i.e. vinegar).

What about sloping lands?

A: In the case of sloping lands, the Exu™ hose can be installed in a ladder structure perpendicular to the land slope, to ensure uniform flow rate along the hoses.

Will roots pierce through and break the hose?

A: No, this happens with drip hoses where the isolated holes are the only irrigation points and hence tend to attract the roots. In the case of Exu™ hose, the roots will be receiving water from the whole length of the hose and hence won't be attracted to any particular part of the hose.
